I hold a PhD in theoretical physics from UFRGS, where my research focused on optimising particle acceleration through ponderomotive potentials. My current work investigates radiation reaction effects in particle acceleration processes, particularly in interactions with intense electromagnetic pulses.
Before joining UFRGS as a Professor of Physics, I taught at the Institute of Mathematics at UFRJ and later held a postdoctoral position at the Institute of Applied Physics at USP. During my postdoctoral research, I studied radiation reaction phenomena arising from the interaction between intense electromagnetic pulses and charged particles.
Beyond my formal research activities, I have a strong interest in the history of physics and, more broadly, science as a whole. I particularly enjoy revisiting original scientific sources, as they often provide a unique opportunity for rediscovery. Although I am devoted to physics, I like to say that I have long maintained a passionate intellectual affair with mathematics (I also hold a degree in it).
